Retirement from a long teaching career has given me the time and impetus to pursue my love of pen drawing and the occasional foray into gouache and pastel technique.
Inspiration has come from a number of sources with the work of Frank Patterson and Alfred Wainwright proving major influences.
The British landscape has also provided ready material for interpretation and on my travels I am constantly looking for interesting and relevant structures to photograph and then translate into black and white artwork, using fineliner pens to introduce the necessary tones and textures.
I have exhibited regularly in the London area for a number of years before residing in Norfolk, where my recent work can now be seen.
